The 2024- 2025 District Q1 Youth of the Year Program finished with a successful District Final with five wonderful students competing on the night, answering the two Impromptu Questions and presenting their Prepared Speeches to the best of their abilities.

We are delighted to share the achievements of the two winning students in the closely contested evening.

Emelia Wedemeyer – from AB Patterson College and representing Helensvale Lions Club was awarded the Overall Winner, participating with confidence and commitment, and went on to proudly represent our District (Q1) at the State Final.

Aoife Kingston – from Emmanual College and representing Ballina Lions Club was awarded the Public Speaking Winner, impressing the judges with excellent speaking skills.

Both students displayed great talent, leadership, and enthusiasm, and we congratulate them and the other students on their wonderful achievements.
