I am excited to advise that the new Youth of the Year paperwork has been released and is ready to go.  Youth of the Year is a fabulous program to encourage and foster leadership skills in students in their high school years. Giving students the opportunity to emphasise qualities like contribution to the community and school, public speaking, academic skills, sporting and cultural involvement, Youth of the Year aims to bring forth the next generation of outstanding young Australians. 

As Lions, let's give as many students as possible the opportunity to participate in the wonderful program, and I encourage every Club in our District to participate again this year - or come back to it fi you've had a year off.

Club registrations are now being received and the Club Registration Form is below with a request email form below for your copy of the Student Entry Form.

Please complete and forward your Club Registration Form to me as soon as you can, so that you can receive the new website password and can access all the current information to start working on your Club Final.

Remember – the Club Finals need to be help by Sunday 8th March, 2026 – but you can hold it in 2025 if that is easier for your Club and your schools.

Dates for Youth of the Year Program Finals for 2025 – 2026 are as follows :-

• Club Judging’s to be completed by Sunday 8th March, 2026;
• Zone Finals (if app) to be completed on Sat 21st March OR Sun 22nd March, 2026;
• Regional Finals to be completed on Sat 28th March OR Sun 29th March, 2026;
• District Final to be held on Saturday 18th April, 2026;
  
• State Final to be held on Friday 1st May and Sat 2nd May, 2026 
  
• National Final to be held on Sunday 24th May, 2026 at the MD Convention in SA.

Finals - I am calling on volunteer Clubs to host the Zone (if applicable) and Regional Finals in your area, you’ll be surprised how rewarding it is and remember, there is financial assistance from District for Clubs that host a Final.

NOTE: While there is no defined cut-off date for clubs to enter, it is best to register your club before Saturday 28th February, 2026. Recommend and encourage you to act ASAP to allow time for clubs to sort Judges & Students.
