Proud to be a Lion
[Chorus]
Proud to be a Lion
Here Down Under
Side by side
We stand and wonder
How a simple smile can lift the load
From the outback heat to the coastal road
Leading to Serve
Serving to Lead
You are the Key to what we can be
All as one
When the day is done, and the work’s been fun
I’m proud to be a Lion
Proud to be a Lion (oh yeah)
[Verse 2]
When the river climbs past the levee line
When the winds tear down old gum trees
We roll up our sleeves in the mud and rain
Cook hot meals for everyone, we serve
Packing up boxes in a country hall
Checking on neighbours, one and all
From cyclone clouds to bushfire scars
If you’re feeling lost and alone
We’re never far
'Cause where there’s a need, there’s a Lion
[Chorus]
Proud to be a Lion
Here Down Under
Side by side
We stand and wonder
How a simple smile can lift the load
From the outback heat to the coastal road
Leading to Serve
Serving to Lead
You are the Key to what we can be
All as one
When the day is done, and the work’s been fun
I’m proud to be a Lion
Proud to be a Lion (hey)
[Bridge]
From Perth to Cairns
And all in between
Many different voices we sing the same song
You are the key, that keeps us strong
Helping hands where hearts belong
[Chorus]
Proud to be a Lion
Here Down Under
Side by side
We stand and wonder
How a simple smile can lift the load
From the outback heat to the coastal road
Leading to Serve
Serving to Lead
You are the Key to what we can be
All as one
When the day is done, and the work’s been fun
I’m proud to be a Lion
Proud to be a Lion (oh yeah)
Proud to be a Lion
You are the Key (you are the key!)
My friend
You are the Key (you are the key!)
My friend
You are the Key to what we can be (you are the key!)
Lionhearted Christmas
[Verse 1]
Santa’s got helpers in yellow and blue
Spreading the cheer like they always do
Lions with cakes stacked high in their sleigh
Making the season in an Aussie way
[Chorus]
Lions Christmas cakes
Oh what a treat
Hampers of joy that can't be beat
Spreading the Cheer
It's what we do
A Lionhearted Christmas just for you
[Verse 2]
They’re packing up hampers
A feast inside
Roast and pudding with Aussie pride
Knocking on doors with a smile so wide
Lifting the spirits of the festive season
[Chorus]
Lions Christmas cakes
Oh what a treat
Hampers of joy that can't be beat
Spreading the Cheer
It's what we do
A Lionhearted Christmas just for you
[Verse 3]
Gift-wrapped surprises for young and old
Stories of kindness worth more than gold
From city streets to the outback's red hue
The Lions are roaring the whole way through
[Chorus]
Lions Christmas cakes
Oh what a treat
Hampers of joy that can't be beat
Spreading the Cheer
It's what we do
A Lionhearted Christmas just for you
