
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DISTRICT COMMUNITY SERVICE IMPACT AWARD
Win $1,500 for Your Club Community Service Project!
Dear Lions & Leo Club Presidents, Secretaries, and Service Chairs,District 201Q1 is proud to launch the Community Service Impact Award, recognising the top community service project every quarter. This initiative supports our commitment to Service with Impact and highlights the incredible work our clubs do across the district.
Quarterly Prizes
- Lions Club = Prize: $1,500 (Prize Funds are for Community Project Account)
- Leo Club = Prize: $500 (Prize Funds are for Community Project Account)
Projects that show:
- Strong community impact
- Public visibility through media or social media
- Clear and engaging storytelling
- Proper LCI reporting in the Lion portal
To enter, clubs must submit:
- A Project Report (template attached within this document)
- A 300–600-word newsletter story
- 3–6 photos
- Evidence of any social or traditional media coverage
- Confirmation that the MyLion Service Activity Report has been submitted
Who Can Enter
All clubs that are financial with District and LCI are eligible.
A Message on Leadership
As Lions & Leos, service is our core purpose. The district strongly encourages every club to appoint a Club Service Chair to help coordinate projects, ensure reporting, and support participation in this award.

Celebrating Service. Inspiring Impact.Purpose of the Award
To inspire Lions clubs across District 201Q1 to deliver meaningful community service projects that create real, measurable impact — and to showcase those achievements to the wider community, reinforcing the DG Theme: “YOU ARE THE KEY — Service with Impact.”
1. Award Structure
Frequency
- Prize Awarded quarterly (every 3 months).
- Close Date as per Submission Form Page (30 days after the quarterly ending), e.g., July to September would close on the 30th of October.
- Only one prize / per service project / per 12 months.
- Lions Club = Prize: $1,500 (Prize Funds are Community Service Account)
- Leo Club = Prize: $500 (Prize Funds are Community Service Account)
- Open to all Lions or Leo Clubs in District 201Q1.
- Clubs must be financial with both District and LCI at the time of judging.
- Projects can be either ongoing, completed or substantially delivered within the relevant quarter.
2. Award Criteria (% Value for Each)
A. Community Impact (50%)
- Number of people served or directly benefiting.
- Demonstrated community need.
- Lasting or ongoing benefit.
- Traditional media exposure (newspaper, radio, TV).
- Social media reach and engagement. (Shared on Local Community Groups)
- Public recognition or partnerships.
- A newsletter story (300–600 words) for DG Newsletter + District Website Blog.
- 3–6 quality photos with captions.
- Clear alignment with “Service with Impact.”
- Club must be in good standing (financial with District & LCI).
- A Service Activity Report must be completed in the LCI Portal (MyLion). If assistance is needed, clubs should contact the Cabinet Secretary or the District Service Coordinator (GST Chair).
3. Submission Requirements
Submissions should be made to the Cabinet Secretary & District Service Chair via the district website - Community Service Impact Award Form.
Clubs must submit the following:
I. Project Report (district template):
- Summary of the activity
- Number of people served
- Outcomes and impact
- Partnerships (if any)
III. Photos (3–6).
IV. Media Evidence
- Links, screenshots, clippings
- Social media analytics (if available)
- has been entered into the LCI Portal (MyLion).
Assistance available from the Cabinet Secretary or District GST Chair.
- Due by 30 days following the end of each quarter.
4. Judging Process
Judged by:
- District Governor
- 1st, 2nd Vice District Governors
- GST Coordinator

- Genuine, high-quality service stories.
- Photos and content that promote Lions to the wider community.
- Material for media outreach, social media, the District website, and the DG Newsletter.
- This helps strengthen club identity, public visibility, and membership growth.
