Duties / Objectives
Risk Management Chair
Promote and support a strong risk management culture across the district; develop resources; advise district leadership and clubs on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks tied to projects, activities, and events.
Duties shall include:
- Develop and share risk management resources and tools for both district and club use.
- Promote the MD201 Risk Management Manual and ensure members understand how to apply it.
- Provide advice on risk management and insurance matters in collaboration with the Multiple District Insurance, Risk Management & Child Safe Committee.
Core Duties in Practice
- Train and brief district and club members on risk processes outlined in the Risk Management manual.
- Encourage risk discussion as a required step in planning all projects/activities.
- Communicate relevant changes in state laws/regulations related to risk.
Support to Clubs & Communication
Maintain regular contact with clubs to answer risk and insurance questions; promote current guidance from the Multiple District committee; highlight risk management at district conventions and events.
Structure & Participation
Serves as part of the District Cabinet structure determined by the District Governor; expected to attend District Convention (and other events as designated or required) and to serve on District Convention/event planning committees as required.
