Duties / Objectives
  • To seek out good news stories throughout Lions clubs within the district, share them on different platforms.
  • To provide creative and interesting content on social platforms to keep members and the public fully informed of District programs and achievements.
  • To make the content up to date informative, fun, and regular.
  • Work closely with all District Officers, Foundations, and clubs within Queensland to obtain content.
  • Liaise with the District Webmaster pertaining to the activities of the district and clubs.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to clubs to assist them to have good social media presence.
  • Provide information and content to the Newsletter Editor wherever possible.
  • Facilitate communication and use of the internet within the district.
  • Liaise with the Cabinet Secretary to ensure that Lions activities receive wide publicity.
  • Liaise with Lions Clubs to ensure that Lions activities receive wide publicity.
  • Promote the District and clubs with interesting and informative posts on Facebook and other media related areas.
  • Adhere to government regulation regarding the privacy laws.
  • Adhere to the legislation of publishing photos especially children (permission must be granted).

District Constitution

Section 9. DISTRICT MARKETING CHAIRPERSON. Under the supervision of the district governor, the district marketing chairperson is responsible for marketing and communications efforts and directly supports the District Global Action Team. His/her responsibilities include:

  1. Work with the district team to identify and support opportunities for marketing large- scale events, programs, and initiatives.
  2. Collaborate directly with the district Global Membership Coordinator to direct any membership leads that come through marketing channels to appropriate clubs.
  3. Support the district governor and district Global Action Team with marketing and publicity guidance.
  4. Encourage clubs within the district to apply for the Lions International Marketing Award.
  5. Support district funding opportunities.
  6. Manage district social media channels and websites, either directly or through an established district marketing committee.
  7. Maintain a full understanding of the Global Brand Guidelines.
    1. Champion appropriate and consistent use of global brand assets in all district activities.
    2. Support use of approved brand templates for story and publicity development.
  8. Encourage clubs to fill the role of the club marketing chairperson.
    1. Ensure consistent support for the club marketing chair, holding meetings, trainings, and providing marketing guidance and best practices.
      1. Promote the good works and newsworthy stories of LCI and LCIF to Lions and members of the media, through social media channels, and to external audiences.
