District Convention Chair

Duties / Objectives
  • To establish and chair a committee dedicated to organising and running the District Convention to the program set by the District Governor of the district.
  • Chair the Convention Organizing Committee set up under the District Constitution to run the Convention and liaise with the District Governor and Cabinet on all aspects of Convention planning and functioning.
  • Promote maximum Club participation at the District Convention by arranging advance publicity of the Convention’s features.
  • Arrange the appointment of the Chair of various sub-committees to ensure that all sections of the Convention run smoothly.
  • Liaise with the Sergeant-at-arms appointed by the District Governor for the efficient management of the Convention program.
  • Ensure a budget is prepared for endorsement by the Cabinet and a fully audited financial report is submitted to the Cabinet in accordance with the Constitution following the Convention.

Section 15. SERGEANT-AT-ARMS. The Sergeant-at-Arms shall maintain order and decorum at the respective conventions and meetings and perform such other duties as are incident to his/her office under JOSKE’S LAW AND PROCEDURE.
